Hotel influenced contemporary bedroom

The brief

Update a large bedroom design in a Victorian house. Create a hotel interior feel, using more up-to-date materials and finishes.

The solution

The deep sea-green wall creates a real impact in this room, contrasted with a chalky, mid-grey on all other walls, to give a sense of calm.

A large, feature ceiling light, consisting of black metal globes, helps to bring down the height of the ceiling. Along with other black elements such as the fireplace and wall lamps, sharpens the scheme and adds to the sophisticated feel. The use of brass and velvet on furniture and accessories enhances the luxe feel throughout.

The bespoke, almost seamless, handleless wardrobes blend into the walls, ensuring a sense of spaciousness remains. Natural materials are included with light oak on the wardrobe inners, and in the cross-legged side tables.

The final piece is an original piece of contemporary art, created using print and gold leaf, of the New York skyline.
